100% correct. They don’t care if the evidence is actual evidence of anything criminal, or even slightly unethical, it’s enough to postulate that there may be something hugely damaging in the evidence (that they haven’t even presented yet, and here we are with another day gone by) and will play on this for the next four years if Biden wins. I guarantee it. Be ready for an endless shit storm of “Biden criminal family made millions in Ukraine and China” stories by the right wing disinformation spinners.
The only solace I take now is that the more mainstream media seems to have suddenly found journalistic integrity again and is ignoring the pleas of shit peddlers like Bannon and Ghouliani and Greenwall to boost their smear campaign. It remains to be seen if this holds, or if they return to the laissez-faire attitude of the post-Drudge Blue Dress era.
Closer. In this case, you hand them to a trusted staff member and put them on a plane. If the documents are that “damning”, there’s no way you let them out of your sight. And even THEN, you copy them first. Which they didn’t.
This story is almost as bad as the one where the son of a prominent political candidate got loaded on booze and snort, took 3 water damaged laptops full of compromat and CP to a local computer store he’d never visited before, left them with the legally blind proprietor who happens to be a huge support of the person the prominent political candidate is running against, and never bothered to return to pick them up.
No, you shipped important COPIES of documents across the country daily. You never shipped the originals, or if you did, you KEPT copies. Right? No law firm worth its cost would not keep copies of such important materials.
If there’s anything I’ve learned in that 4 years, it’s that the barrel has no bottom, there’s no bar too low, and to a certain subset of Americans, there is no lie so stupid that they won’t believe it.
Actually, Fox’s legal argument is that he’s explicitly not part of Fox news, that’s why he can spew blatant falsehoods as an “editorialist.” but of course the misunderstanding you’ve bravely acknowledged is exactly the de facto confusion their whole model relies on.
And suddenly we know why last night, after finding the flash drive they had lost, Tucker Carlson suddenly decided we didn’t need to know any more about Hunter Biden.
What a great story, it’s been fun to follow and mock.
If you did know much about him, you would conclude the “documents” are almost certainly entirely 100% faked, and that he deliberately arranged to have the delivery address miss-labeled in an attempt to get them to get lost or delivered to the wrong place, so that he could pretend there’s some big scandal he can report on. That scenario is far, far more likely than the one he is spinning, and totally in character for him and typical of his behavior.
Sadly for him, UPS found the package and returned it to him. Strangely, the “damning evidence” has yet to be heard from. Other than the evidence that it is all fraudulent. Yeah, I think this did not go according to plan.
No, I’m saying that if you don’t know where your documents are, they could be anywhere, and if that’s important to you, you should have picked another carrier. I’m too old now to bike cross-continent in two weeks but I could have, back then. GPS-tag the bike courier and you’d know if they’d been hit by a drunk driver.
