The closest Tucker has come to an American grocery store in decades has been when he counted out some of his Swanson frozen dinner fortune dividends to whatever servant does his shopping for him.

I just got to ask:

Which grocery store?
The one for the Communist Party Members, or the one for the plebs?
Do they check IDs/membership before you can enter?

Bottom line:
Russia commonly “sells” items below market to a select privileged few, and this not the everyday pricing for everyone else, including efforts by the black market to ensure AVAILABILITY to everyone else.

Tucker should sample some novichok, one of Putin’s favorite delicacies I hear.

Yep. Groceries in the USA are more expensive.

And corporations are raking in record profits.

Walmart’s earnings are up, but they still won’t raise pay for their workers.

Surely capitalism is not at fault, it must be something else. “Wokeness” maybe.

This whole photo-op was clearly Russia’s response to Yeltsin’s trip to a Houston-area grocery store in 1989 that shattered his faith in communism and led to the economic reforms that helped dismantle the Soviet Union. Seems Putin’s still a little salty about it 35 years later.

Maybe this is part Tucker’s long-game to bring his shitty frozen dinners to the Russian masses?

Even as recently as 2010, a recent immigré from Russia who was a new hire, when she came with us to a local Home Despot to pick up some cheap networking stuff, spent a good hour just wandering the store and gawking at the goods on sale. She’d seen a few other stores since her arrival, she said, but what really impressed her was that all this stuff was just lying around on shelves, millions of dollars of tools, machinery, appliances, raw materials, etc. “In Russia,” she said, “All this would be stolen in hours.”

I wonder if Tucker went to Mexico City he would marvel over their old school architecture and how cheap the mangoes are.
