There seriously needs to be an investigation into why so many on the right are pro Putin. Ron DeSantis, who was vehemently anti-Russia and pro-Ukraine when Russia annexed Crimea years ago has done a complete 180 and is now also parroting Putin’s talking points. I don’t know if Putin has dirt on these people, or if he’s paying these people, or if these people have just decided there’s profit in supporting fascism, but it’s really weird to me to see Republicans, of all people, defending Vladimir fucking Putin. He is old school USSR KGB. This doesn’t make any sense, and I’d really like to know what’s behind it.
But why is Carlson doing this? Is he trying to curry favor with Putin? Is he a Kremlin operative? Does Putin have Kompromat against him? Or is he simply an asshole?
He’s a fascist and white supremacist, just like his hero in the Kremlin. There’s a strain of the American right wing that offers support to this kind of dictator.

(d) All of the above
Tucker is just the hired help
Anything he says on Fox is exactly what the Murdoch family has hired him to say on Fox
Someday he’ll be gone, like many before him, and some other asshole will say the same shit on Fox
Yes, fox has been exposed as puppets.
So then what is Murdochs agenda? My guess it is for clicks. Murdoch is too powerful to truly care what color of tie sleeps in the white house. Meanwhile the world comes to his doorstep desperate to get their message broadcast and at whatever cost.
They always have a dog in the race because they always want less regulation and more tax cuts
Why do they like Putin? … it’s probably more that they don’t like Zelensky and they don’t like the EU
Sure, agreed. But I also meant that Murdoch doesn’t care even if a fascist runs the country because he still won’t be affected personally.
And the Putin love began in magaland before most of them knew who Zelensky even was. The Russian election meddling was one of those “big lie” topics that both sides argued, and the side that believed Russia didn’t interfere also decided Putin was just the kind of alpha dictator trash they were excited about… “triggering the libs” and all that trash.
No need for an investigation @danimagoo its all about what brings in revenue to FoxNews. Rupert Murdoch agreed with the sentiment expressed by the Dominion lawyers in their 1.6 billion dollar lawsuit that the network makes its advertising decision based on what companies are willing to pay for ad space. Turckers’ show is simply a vehicle for selling advertising. He’s an entertainer not a journalist.
To further bolster this argument we have ruling of US District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil who agreed with Fox’s own lawyers that “given Mr. Carlson’s reputation a reasonable viewer 'arrive[s] with an appropriate amount of skepticism about the statements he makes.” “This ‘general tenor’ of the show should then inform a viewer that he is not ‘stating actual facts’ about the the topics he discusses and is instead engaging in ‘exaggeration’ and 'non-literal commentary.”
So he’s a clown. An anti-american clown who is in it for the money. Putin probably sees him as an useful idiot.
Even more alarming is his sway over so many in US gov’t. Note that Bojo is a disreputable source, but he at least seems to have realization on so e levels that Putin is an existential threat to a free Europe (despite his Brexit actions helping Putin’s goals).
I mean, he purposefully aligned with the GOP. Never has he aligned with the Democratic party (or any parties that are not on the right).
When people show you who they are, believe them.
How do you think he plans to keep avoiding regulation. The best way to do that, is to align with fascism, because as long as you push their POV, they will protect you.
Yeah, certainly the GOP will not regulate their own state run media. But under the banners of democratic, free speech, editorial, and entertainment Fox news has been operating just fine. The few lawsuits, and their repercussions, that approach regulating fox news have come far short of curtailing the vast liberties they take with truth.
That’s because of Reagan era deregulation…
While Fairness doctrine did not apply to cable news, the success of Limbaugh, who most certainly DID benefit from the end of the fairness doctrine, which paved the way for Fox news building an audience…
