Twitter sued by another vendor it refuses to pay

And because he’s too incompetent to appoint someone to fix these issues, even after he knows they’re happening.

Well, certainly it was after he bought it. I’m constantly amused by the Musky defenders who cheer on his cost-cutting measures (leaving aside that most of them will end up being really expensive for the company) because the company is in such dire financial straights, never mentioning the reason it is in such trouble is because Musk took a borderline profitable business and saddled it with billions of dollars of debt it couldn’t service. I mean, that seems like a pretty dumb business decision - especially since he paid so much more than he needed to, thereby sticking the company with even more debt - from the very start. It’s almost like he never actually had a serious plan for Twitter. That he then went on to destroy the company’s revenue stream is the cherry on his incompetence cake.

Not just Twitter! Far too many government agencies communicate over Facebook as well, which should also be illegal

It was archived by the Library of Congress for 12 years, plus “historic tweets.” They could make that public in some form.

I know that some group at MIT also has a tool in beta (for researchers/archivists only) for backing up threads, but I can’t recall the name of it.

Very much this. Once we started putting government communications, including for some reason presidential decrees (?), on this thing became something that had to be preserved in some way. I am assuming that for all of the executive branch stuff there are archivists that have already got a plan in place for scraping this stuff. But for all of the other government communication taking place over Twitter? I doubt anybody has a plan in place for that

More like buying the bank for $44B, ripping the ATM out of the wall, and cutting it open with a thermal lance because you fired all the staff who know how to open it, then bragging about using the $20,000 in still-unburnt bills to develop the best battery ever.

…which explodes if you use it…

I will never understand this infamous sequence of financial jūjutsu moves that always results in

  1. I own you

  2. You owe me money

Perhaps Musk has taken a shit-stained page out of Trump’s playbook. Trump has gotten away with going decades without paying the tens of millions he owes to hundreds of casino contractors.
