How long until his failure to pay rent leads to landlords seizing and selling off Twitter’s servers?

Is that ad literally suggesting moving to Vilnius, as in the capital city of Lithuania? Or is it a rival tech company that I haven’t heard of?

Yup.
The Balts are very keen on attracting tech specialists

Musk has instructed Twitter employees to pause payments to contractors and vendors to try to decrease the outstanding bills.

Um… I think they’ll still be outstanding even if you delay paying them…

Or is it supposed to make sure the employees are out-standing… in the street?

90 days or so while his lawyers stall, depending on jurisdiction. The local offices probably have several servers each for the company intranet. They (and their digital contents) will be grabbed along with any desktops and laptops left behind, the furniture, kitchen appliances, and just about anything else that isn’t nailed down. Standard stuff with failing companies that stiff their landlords.

I thought living under bridges was more tröll mode than goblin?

"You can’t evict us, we’re Twitter!"

“Don’t worry, we’ll be sure to take lots of pictures and video of you being evicted, and we’ll post them.”

I don’t understand how it is controversial – normally not paying your bills is pretty straightforward, it isn’t really “questionable”, and it is likely not cost saving. Also, strategy seems generous.

I don’t know if Musk is still the world’s richest man, but he’s certainly got the spot clinched for world’s richest deadbeat. WTF does he think he’s doing?

It’s a matter of ranking the rent payments into piles

very late, will evict us, will be backed up by the courts
very late, wants to evict us but the courts don’t have the time to enforce his wants
somewhat late, irritated landlord
somewhat late but “understanding” landlord
not late

But eventually, all your landlords will be equally angry and the legal fees will add up.

In addition to the legal fees destroying any “savings”, I’m wondering when and how big the reputational hit is going to be. If you don’t pay your bills, why would people want to work with you unless it was all up front

At tis point anyone who continues to work there deserves it. They should all quit. Same as Trump administration workers, the longer they stay, the more tainted they are. Just quit. There are other tech jobs out there. With toilet paper in the bathrooms. It’s a low bar.

I guess the Twitter ad revenue in Singapore has taken a hit. It’s hard to sell advertising when no one is answering the phone.

Wow, judge much? You don’t know what people are dealing with that would make them need that job, at least right now. Health insurance for folks with chronic conditions or dependents with them; as we’ve pointed out before, H1-b visa holders, etc.

I know I won’t be doing any business with any company that musk owns or controls.
