Archie comics and all of its spin-offs were a big deal for me as a kid. I bought every one I could, and read them and reread them kind of obsessively, to the point where my mother once asked me “When you start going on dates with girls, are you going to bring an Archie comic with you?” I said “Probably.” Jokes on her, of course: I never went on dates with girls.
These are great. I find the same spirit in Yale Stewart’s wonderful tales of the young Justice League in his JL8.

As someone whose familiarity came primarily from cartoons as a kid, I didn’t realize Josie and the Pussycats was a spinoff of Archie until much later.
Josie was made by Hanna/Barbera and The Archie Show was made by Filmation. The animation styles and genres were very different.
