After everything else that followed, the Conservative party needed to make an intervention to save themselves. A man might have lasted longer, but I doubt they would have made it to the end of the year.
Personally, my main reason for hating Truss before this last month of fuck-ups was because she was a TER. My preferred PM is any one of several women in the Labour party.
