Was so tired once from a ten hour flight delay and then a red eye that I left a laptop in a cab.
Driver ended up getting fired because he tried to play games and make me pay to get it back. He was supposed to eye sweep the back seat when a passenger got out and it was sitting right there.
Since I was the fool who left it, I’d have paid the $50 he requested for his time and loss of revenue coming back to the hotel later that day and in fact did pay it, but got a call from the taxi company a couple of weeks later then a formal apology letter and a check for the money which he was not allowed to charge.
