Very nice.

Here in the US, it looks like just yesterday our 7-day average of new cases dropped to its lowest level yet (since before April 1st), at 20,055. This is the first time we’ve dipped below the summer lows, and with more testing too. (Today’s is even lower but they’re saying that lack of Memorial Day reporting may be affecting that.)

And likewise 2 days ago the 7-day average of deaths finally hit its lowest point yet as well, at 446.

Neither of these have been reported on (it’s a bit of an insider-baseball statistic, using the seven-day average), but I’ve been waiting for them, and am very happy.

Actually, the official number of deaths on the 31st of may is 3 according to https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/deaths (use the “data” tab instead of the “daily” tab). Still amazing, though!
