The conservatives are the ones making the complaint, of course!

I’m not offended by the image, I’m offended by the price.

Funnier than Jon Stewart!

You misspelled “predictably.”

A quick and highly scientific poll of my Facebook friends who are white Republicans found this:

n=7 (including one retired Marine)
O*=0 (0%)
NO/BO*=7 (100%)

*O(Offended)
*NO/BO (Not Offended or Barely Offended)
So the science is in…the complainers are an oversensitive minority.

The US flag worship and army cult is reaching absurd and laughable proportions.

Idea for a tshirt.

Replace the marines in the original with Army soldiers. Change any text to reflect this. See if anyone notices.

You also have to factor in the different political climate between '83 and today. There was no Fox news back then. But yes, I imagine that even if Van Halen did it today, it wouldn’t be quite the same outrage as it was for the UA shirt.

The words “social media” came up a lot when I was reading about this.

In 1983, Twitstorms hadn’t yet been invented.

That, too. Nothing builds up a good outrage fest like the ol’ Twitsterbook.

I’ll just put this here:

For a while, Panavision had a poster made, that you could also get as a t-shirt if you knew somebody. I used to see it on movie sets from time to time.

I have a Halloween version of that shirt, with the old Universal horror movie monsters raising the camera. I’ll try to post a picture tonight.
