Unidentified federal forces enter Portland, pull protestors into unmarked vans

Wait till they come across a protester who is exercising their right to bear arms. This may not end well.

That was happening already for years. It’s one of the reasons antifa grew in Portland (and Seattle) in response to hate tourists from RW groups from all over the country.

What’s changed is now the hate tourists are from the federal government.

Pro-tip: Stop worrying about what they think or say. Your life will be better for it.

How very Susan Collins of you…

This might be counter productive in cases that aren’t random fed kidnappings. Any footage you have can be used to build a case against you and anyone you interact with.

They do, which also is met with violent police. There have been protests outside both the Portland mayor’s home and office.87 people arrested at Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron house A recent protest outside the Kentucky attorney general’s home led to 87 arrests, many felonies on the grounds that protesting outside his house constitutes trying to intimidate a participant in a legal process. 87 people arrested at Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron house

Here’s an OPB repoort on this phenomenon

The PPB is not going to be helpful, even if they were deployed to protect Portlanders. Governor Brown needs to bring in State Police to cordon off the federal buildings and assign “liaison officers” to follow anyone who leaves the federal buildings so that they can stop (or at lease document) everything they do.

Painful to hear that American Civil Religion is alive and well in the warped minds of millions.

I used to watch movies where the bad guys have all these thugs working for them, and wonder where would they find all these people to be so awful.

I don’t wonder that anymore.

I don’t think anyone expected PPB to be much help. But there’s no reason to believe state police are any less rife with people who support the administration in this.

it’s a trigger word for “patriots” implying intent.

destroy alone doesn’t work because nothing’s actually been destroyed and there are no pictures of it to show. and even if there were, simple destruction doesn’t get patriots angry. they destroy shit all the time. it’s being offensive that’s offensive.

not that desecration is a crime. not that people are being charged with a crime anyway

and now you know why they chose portland

And what word do they use when they drown the government in a bathtub?

I’m not sure I’d go that far. The State Police have a much better record than PPB. With specific orders, I would expect them to do their jobs.

nobody’s going after the police, the police are going after the protestors. it doesn’t really matter where the protestors go, the police will come after them.

except, now that federal secret police are kidnapping people you can bet people will gather at any federal buildings. especially as the city government has no control over the feds. and the city can’t use the police to protect the protestors because… well… see systemic racism, the city’s long history of racism, the corruption of unaccountable power, and #defundthepolice.

unfortunately, the administration knows that people will double down now. that’s the plan

I do not want to imagine what would happen to the US nuclear arsenal if the US “died”.

It would probably deteriorate into unusability pretty quickly. It is very expensive to maintain ICBMs and nuclear weapons.
