Remember when Flynn was forced to resign because he didn’t disclose all his contacts with Russians?
The latest revelations are waaay more damning than that, and nobody involved is even losing their security clearances. We’re becoming so acclimated to Trump scandals that outright admissions of guilt are dismissed as No Big Deal.
OK, where are the arrests then? The votes on removal? The resignations and loss of face? The interrogations?
Look, I don’t like these people. I hate them all and want them out. But I just don’t see a red congress doing anything but close ranks around them every step of the way.
Ok. But if that’s the law then it would seem to take in a lot of things that ought not to be criminalised. For example, using information published in a foreign newspaper which details a leak discrediting the opposing candidate in some way.
That’s also considered public knowledge. Big difference from someone promising “very high level and sensitive” information in a private meeting with a foreign national that’s purported to be speaking on behalf of said government.
How about knowingly and repeatedly lying on Federal security clearance forms, as several members of Trump’s administration are now known to have done? The “oops I forgot about those meetings with Russians” excuse became laughably implausible months ago.
