That is truly awesome; astonishing and terrifying.

These two spatter cones are almost shut down now and beginning to crumble as their magma supply from the feeder dike dwindles.
The eruption has moved away from Geldingadalir and opened a new fissure about 700m away to the NE with the lava now flowing down into the neighbouring valley of Meradalir.
And that looks amazing:
The area still remains closed - a combination of bad weather, uncertainty if the new fissure is going to extend further and high levels of sulfur and fluorine in the emissions.

With these drone flight videos, I can’t help but compare and contrast with Katia and Maurice Krafft.
