That was fun! It reminded me of an entertaining little 2011 movie called Hysteria with Jonathan Pryce, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Felicity Jones and Rupert Everett.
I bet their gift shop is fun.
Not all of the ones today are sleek little machines either…
@Carla_Sinclair Along the same vibe, there’s a museum for actual penis’s in Iceland. It’s so cold up there perhaps they thought it best to have a place inside for them. I bet that they have a curator that’s at least half the fun as GV’s!
Steamporn:
My Dear Wife refers to her 1961 Triumph Tiger as an “antique vibrator”, gosh she’s a keeper.
Reminds me of that scene from The Naked Gun where the cops visit an erotic store and come across a device that starts up like a gasoline-powered chainsaw.
But can we get Russian Orthodox priests to bless them?
PSA: Don’t use your vacuum cleaner as a sex toy!
Too late
Unrelated to the above, but we actually owned a Filter Queen vacuum for a few decades.
Some brand new vibrators can still be described as “big industrial-looking objects”:

Dieselpunk:
I’m a sexologist! Actually a shrink who studies sex, but the other title is so much cooler. In reading the history of hysteria, I always wondered whether it was male doctors being too dim to understand what was occurring with this “cure,” or male doctors being too busy looking for an excuse to molest/assault their patients to care what was happening. Maybe the perfect “porque no los dos” scenario. No matter how you spin it, there’s a whole lot of unflattering implications. And maybe some happy endings.
Also The Road to Wellville covers the same subject. Very funny movie and well worth a watch.
Anthony Hopkins as John Harvey Kellogg, who was a health nut of the first order. Lots of high colonics, crackpot health equipment, and digital manipulation for “hysteria”. It’s a hoot!
My father once had a side gig selling them…but I’m not gonna ask if he remembers that “special attachment.”
Good writeup of a history in which women know what an orgasm is, and most of the stuff about hysteria is debunked…
That was a great article. If they weren’t all willfully ignorant of female orgasms as was widely believed, that means there was a lot more sex positivity going on with women rocking their power to choose what they want in their vaginas.
Can’t tell the size from your picture…needs a banana for scale
