"You’ll see every aspect of the puzzle production process"

except how the pieces are actually cut.

Tiny little sprites with xacto knives.

Found this video that actually shows the die cutter elements being made BY HAND!
(Only 3 min long but warning: really bad sound mix)

I remember one Christmas all of the kids getting their own puzzle from the same company. After putting them together side by side we realized that each one was cut exactly the same way (presumably in the same die press) so we interchanged the pieces to make two checkerboard puzzles that alternated each puzzle’s pieces. It was a cool looking effect.

Well, now that the parlor moths…er, pantry months…thing is featuring, I guess I’m not putting gingerbread under a canvas that’s had the Add Star Wars treament, with frosting; and then projecting a cut mask derived from those Psychotronic Magazine covers on it. Until December.

What’s that stuff schools of cuisine do to preserve platings, like peroxide (or…it’s triclosan soap?) gelatine or horseradish gelatine? Is there one that renders gingerbread no less edible but could support canvas puzzles? Parchment and nothing as glue. Maybe the waterjet under 300psi. (Maybe in a couple of tries. After I go through the HVLP air pressure transformer toolchain and land back at Harbor Freight’s Forbidden $8 Water Knife Aisle…lerkout! e’ll bite yer.)

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that a jigsaw puzzle manufacturer would cut corners like that.
