Um…CFPB or CFRB?
The CFRB has been buried in an avalanche of frivolous, well-funded lawsuits, while the likes of Breitbart has whipped up its low-information base to call for the demise of the bureau.
If Breitbart has any business sense they’re re-selling their subscriber DB as a sucker list to payday lenders and similar companies that prey on the desperate and dimwitted. Any mark that can be convinced to strip himself of consumer protection from sleazy grifters is a mark who can become a cash cow for the grifters themselves.
Ha! Right you are. Thanks!
Since Trump had taken office we’ve seen the ongoing efforts to dismantle the EPA, FCC, USDA, HUD, DOI, and ED. (Not to mention numerous other federal programs and departments.)
At this point, why not go for the CFPB next?
I hope those coal miners in Virginia are feeling really proud of themselves now.
founded by Elizabeth Warren before she ran for the Senate and although it was always intended that she would be the first director of the CFPB, Republicans said “absolutely not, no way, no how” because they were terrified of her strong pro-consumer background, Elizabeth Warren ran for Senate, instead.
No, seriously, folks, Warren 2020. That’s all.
When it comes to 'uge scale financial impropriety, ignorance is bliss, right? Right?
Nothing will go “wrong”.
Everything will go exactly as intended.
“Nur die allerdümmsten Kälber // wählen ihren Schlächter selber.”
Bertolt Brecht
(Not that it would be that much better on my side of the pond, mind you.)
No, seriously, no. Warren has repeatedly said she doesn’t want to, and we really should respect her wishes. American progressives have to stop with this hero-worship stuff.
Pretty sure the only reason Trump became president was to undo everything Obama did.
That would be West Virginia. Virginia voted for Clinton.
You just don’t understand!! Those people you casually dismiss as “the 99%”? They are actually the pre-wealthy. So, why wouldn’t they do everything they could to help their wealthy brethren? It’s in their collective self-interest. Here, this might help:
TODAY, I AM THE 99%. TOMORROW, I AM THE 1%.
Close.
I’ve traveled round this country
From shore to shining shore
It really made me wonder
The things I heard and saw.
I saw the weary farmer
Plowing sod and loam
l heard the auction hammer
A knocking down his home
But the banks are made of marble
With a guard at every door
And the vaults are stuffed with silver
That the farmer sweated for
l saw the seaman standing
Idly by the shore
l heard the bosses saying
Got no work for you no more
But the banks are made of marble
With a guard at every door
And the vaults are stuffed with silver
That the seaman sweated for
I saw the weary miner
Scrubbing coal dust from his back
I heard his children cryin
Got no coal to heat the shack
But the banks are made of marble
With a guard at every door
And the vaults are stuffed with silver
That the miner sweated for
I’ve seen my brothers working
Throughout this mighty land
l prayed we’d get together
And together make a stand
Then we’d own those banks of marble
With a guard at every door
And we’d share those vaults of silver
That we have sweated for
So the version we learned orally was a bit wrong. I am duly silenced.
Sorry; I wasn’t trying to offend. Jumped on a chance to post a song I like.
