Warrant out for the arrest of a Texas school teacher after she locked her COVID positive son in the trunk of her car

Even without exhaust, it’s an enclosed space that is not ventilated and with a finite amount of oxygen.

Not really. There is air communication between the cabin and trunk. No gaskets and plenty of pathways for air to move between. Not comfortable and likely stifling if it’s hot, but not sealed.

Who wants to find out their mom listens to Trunk Music?

In the mafia sense.

You obviously know more about cars than I do. I always thought mob movies that showed people locked in trunks were unrealistic because surely the people would be dead by the time they opened up the trunk, but I guess not.

Still, that kind of environment can’t be good for somebody who has COVID-19.

Which does certainly undermine the question of the COVID safety of the whole exercise.

Motorcycle with a sidecar might not be a bad idea here. Or perhaps a bakfiets.

1970’s and earlier cars in those movies.

I seem to remember one of the earliest posts in this thread talked about the trunk being a crumple zone (unlike in the 1970s and 1980s).

I owe you a coke.

And you too, @DukeTrout.

Guess I’d better get a case.

Those images with the thought of someone inside is horrifying.

Back in high school they would let seniors leave campus for lunch. We’d often sneak underclassmen out in the trunk. A speed bump could easily dislocate a shoulder or smash someone’s face. Thankfully, the worst issue was a bruise or sore arm and the driver would be very careful when going over bumps.

Yeah, I think an ignore button would be nice.
