Beautiful, thank you for posting this! But ā€œa singerā€? This is Patrick Bruel! If you donā€™t know his name you might be interested to learn that heā€™s also a poker champion.

this is really neat to see, but I wonder if he wouldā€™ve been so overwhelmed with modern in-ear monitors.

hehe. hehe. You said ā€˜memeā€™.

I was half expecting him to come out with a Tom Petty-ish ā€œYā€™all gonna put me out of a job.ā€

My God for a moment I thought you were going to say he was a Pokemon.

I canā€™t imagine what it must feel like to have that tsunami of human energy and enthusiasm all directed at yourself.

I think I would be awe-struck and more than a little frightened.

English translation of the song, for those curious

Iā€™m still telling you

We could have told all that to each other
Elsewhere than at the cafe down there
That you would maybe leave
And maybe you wouldnā€™t even come back
But anyway , whatā€™s sure
Is that we could have laughed it off

So weā€™re going to break up like that ,
Like fools in front of the cafe down there
Like in a B movie
We both suck
Weā€™ve been making fun so many times
Of the people who do that

But I find no chorus for our story
All the words that occur to me are pathetic
I pretty much know Iā€™ve said it too much
But Iā€™m still telling you ā€¦ I love you

I still want to thank you
For all the mean words weā€™ve never told to each other
Some people are laughing already
I donā€™t care , Iā€™ve never liked them
We looked too happy together
Some people canā€™t stand that

But I find no chorus for our story
All the words that occur to me are pathetic
I pretty much know Iā€™ve said it too much
But Iā€™m still telling you ā€¦ I love you

I pretty much know Iā€™ve said it too much
But Iā€™m still telling you ā€¦ I love you

ā€¦ I love you .

this is truly heart-warming, especially in an age of ruthless careless self-important pathological CEOs who are raping the populations and natural resources of our worldā€¦a wonderful diversion that gives us some small hope for a future where people treasure each other and celebrate our shared humanity.

I was just about to post the lyrics
Also the feels were real. I almost shed a tear for real, it was very touching to see his utter surprise as he meekly tried to compose himself enough to sing.

Yes, this is genuinely beautiful! But it did remind the snarky side of me of the disappointing Prince concert I went to >10 years ago. At which, Prince did that thing where he encouraged the audience to sing aloud so often that I was like, ā€œdude! I paid to hear YOU sing your songs, not the rest of the audience!ā€

Well he canā€™t be a very good one, since he obviously wears his heart on his sleeve. Pity him when he draws a heart flush!

Thanksā€¦I was wondering what they lyrics were because they so obviously SPOKE to peopleā€¦

If you like that, also check out this one, where Matt Nathanson jokingly starts playing ā€œYou Shook Me All Night Longā€ and the audience takes over.

Iā€¦I scrolled through the youtube comments (I know, I know) and after the song was over, I still felt pretty happy. Thatā€™s how special this was. Thanks.

Thanks for posting this. That bashful smile on his face is beautiful.

Soā€™s the song. I didnā€™t know it.
