That’s what I see, and attribute it to the discomfort of having to deal with a heathen interfering with her holy work of de-funding secular public schools and diverting that money to private, religious schools.
“The cruelty is the point.”
There’s lots to be outraged about with this administration, and I have no love for this heinous person, but her trying to keep her cool while someone sticks a camera in her face outside of her office doesn’t strike me as one of them.
This. I don’t see much of a smile or a smirk. More of a desire to be left alone. Does she deserve what’s she’s getting? I think so. Is she smirking? I don’t think so.
Although it sucks for the moment to have these un-elected monsters in all sorts of positions of power, it’s nice to know that when we kick out Trump, that entourage is gonna be sent packing with him.
I read this news item right after I read about the military giving dRumph a BILLION dollars for his wall. How is this possible in our world? How could one gentleman so completely mismanage our money to make this happen?
Oh. That’s right, he bankrupted a casino.
I think he deserves a scaphism. (hats off to @RandomDude)
She is Betsy DeVos and her brother is Erik Prince.
I can’t think of two more people that could even amount 2 more human garbage than those two except perhaps Trump.
It’s not spin to say they genuinely seemed to enjoy hurting people in that family and do it with glee. What a twisted worldview and upbringing they both must have.
To hell with this woman, post haste, and may she drag her murderous, coniving and warmongering asshole brother with her on the way down. This administration makes me sick to my core
I can only hope that she is getting on an elevator that’s going straight to hell.
tragically the same cannot be said about the federalist society judges he will have already installed for life.
I think he deserves the best health care and to live his remaining years surrounded by his loved ones crime family in the least comfortable 6 x 8 foot jail cells we have. No tv, no internet just each other’s winning personalities to pass the interminable hours.
I did see some article noting that a majority of his appointees are replacing other conservative judges… that may not be a huge consolation… but… and the next president will also be able to appoint judges. (Especially would be helpful if we can take back the senate too to ease that along.)
Chomsky’s been watching this show for a long time. Different cast, same plot.
Who does this woman think she is? She works for us, the tax payers. Why does she think she should not answer questions from the public?
Money. She is insulated from any punishment for her abuse of power by her money.
Now, if the private education industry were, say, to be legislated out of existence… longing sigh Oh, the horror that would fill the dusty cavern where her heart should be…
Yes.
Yes, it is.
…and his crime family.
But yeah.
Every time I hear another new name getting added to White House money-trough as a so-called public servant, I am bracing myself for the other shoe (covered in crap) to drop.
Robert Heinlein once said: “In a mature society, ‘civil servant’ is semantically equal to ‘civil master.’” Rest assured that DeVos understands this concept, even if she is unable to use the former phrase in reference to herself.
To answer your question: no, she does not know that she works for the citizens; rather, she works for the specific individuals responsible for shoving her into this position of authority and utterly ignoring any and all concerns about her qualifications. And unless she is cured of that delusion by being forcibly removed from office over the objections of her Tinyhanded master, she will continue to operate that way.
That got a chuckle out of me.
It’s amazing how one can manage to blow and suck at the same time eh?
It’s sadopopulism
