Another puppet / animation cross-over was Beany & Cecil - started as a puppet show (with lots of sly political satire and egregious punning) and then was resurrected as animation, which was Bob Clampett’s original métier.
Einstein was a fan of the puppet series and famously interrupted a talk with Nobel laureates, excusing himself because “It’s time for Beany.”
