I don’t know how much time you plan to spend there, but if you can manage it, do try to reach Reykjahlíð (to the northeast) and see Hverfjall and Dimmu Borgir, two spectacular features which are exactly as forbidding and impressive as their names imply. No strenuous trekking necessary, just walk with care…

The Doom marine in Doom (2016) does that if you have a little lava meltdown… saw it too many times while running the Foundry level
