Watch: GOP senator warns Taylor Swift that socialism bans women from singing

As do female singers from actual communist countries.

Considering Taylor’s two most recent albums are very folk-oriented, that wouldn’t be too much of a stretch, and I can almost see her doing something like that just for the shits’n’giggles.
I think she’d look pretty hot wearing something like a North Korean female army uniform…

I guess all there is to do now is anonymously mail her Howard Zinn’s oeuvre. For at least some inspiration for an ounce of depth to her lyrics

Half the time prople are crying “socialism” or “communism” while describing in detail capitalism.

“socialism is when the rich own everything and jobs pay peanuts!”

Oh you mean what’s happening right now under capitalism?

I think people should really move towards using Social Democracy as a replacement term for Socialism. I like it as it stresses the democracy part which many think would somehow evaporate if “The Libs” had their way.

Yes - the Marthas of the world will confuse this with socialism or communism - but as the old saying goes: you can lead a horse to water…

Here’s a primer that even a child (or recent grad of Liberty or Regent University) could understand:

I mean, we’re not socialist societies here of course. But then again from her perspective we might as well be godless communists.

It’s not a replacement term. Social democracy is something different than socialism. It’s what is the actual political system in many countries certain strands of American society think are socialist. So yes, by all means, use Social Democracy to describe the political system of places like Scandinavia or Germany but please know that it’s not a “replacement term”, it’s the accurate term and “socialist” was never accurate.

I really struggle with this. A lot. Are they ignorant and just saying what they think to be true or are they willfully saying what they know is false for their own benefit?

Which is it, and which is worse? how the fuck did we get here…and how do we make it stop!

When they get really angry, they toss in “Bolshevik-Leninist” to the word salad.

Why don’t they ever give poor Trotsky his propers?

Or if they want to take an anti-intellectual tack, they pull out (((“Cultural Marxism”))). A favourite of Jordaddy and kapo Ben Shapiro.

One more reason John McCain became so alienated from the rest of his party in the era of Trump.
