The truth is, it probably doesn’t. Projects like this on “maker” YouTube are made for clicks and because they have a certain “neat” factor that gets them shared around. However you never see the person go on to use them for 20 years, because they’re always impractical.

Totally agree, just tried to not totally shit on the idea. But yeah, reminds me of those “5 Minute Craft” type ideas where they build some rickety POS out of cardboard, hot glue, and particle board and act like they made something that will last longer than hour with actual use.
Definitely. A rising genre that I like is “maker YouTube debunking” where people actually make or cook the thing demonstrated in those “5 minute craft” style videos to see if they work. They never do, of course.
