I’m going to have to watch that.

David Mazouz? He plays young Bruce. You mean Cameron Monaghan? He’s great in Gotham, and I’m excited to see his final form:

Edit:
If for you, the YouTube link in the Polygon article doesn’t work, here’s a direct link.

Yep, boogers. Got the names confused. Thanks for the correction.

Same.
I think this is the first time I remember seeing him in a film was in Clay Pigeons and have been a fan ever since. His role in Gladiator made that bad movie better…

I guess I’m one of the few people that has been meh on the Joker and wanted Batman films with other villains so to have a whole movie about Joker is a major pass for me. I really want less Synderverse and more fun and I’m betting Joker is going to be a slog of a film.

I like the production design.

Also, wow. The Joker lives up where I do.

COOL GIANT DRILLS DUDE!

I can deal with silly plots if the movie is entertaining. It’s a super hero movie, not Dostoyevsky.

You never read The Killing Joke then?

Well. I like Man of Steel too but you need context. Vs BvS or Justice League I LOVE MOS. compared to Aquaman or Wonder Woman…I mildly tolerated MOS.

Great movie.

This trailer looks interesting.

Also, am I the only person who was underwhelmed by Aquaman?

YES. I found it so damn good. Entertaining and fun didn’t take itself too seriously and let Mamoa just be himself. Worked great. And I could SEE the movie.

I’m fairly certain he already played that part in Inherent Vice. But this might come a close second.

LOL the bar for DC movies is indeed set pretty low these days!

To be clear, ranking Aquaman above Man of Steel was not intended in any way as an endorsement of Aquaman. Both had a lot of flaws, but at least Aquaman was stocked with eye candy.

Personally I found the dub-step planet drill in MOS boring, though the phantom zone banishing at the beginning was pretty cool and I liked the weird Kryptonian 3D history lesson.

It’s been so long since I watched it I’ve forgotten everything about it except that I LOVED that movie.
[scribbles note to re-watch Clay Pigeons]

The response to this trailer in this thread seems mixed. I wasn’t expecting much from this movie because, DC. But this looks hella good. I am now super excited to see this.

Sadly, when it comes to DC movies these days, low expectations are the key to keeping any surprises pleasant ones.

That really is the golden rule for some enjoyment. This movie seems to have it’s own esthetic. I haven’t been paying attention to it’s production news because, DC, so this has me completely surprised.

I think when the Joker is the villain in a Batman movie I prefer that his origin is murky. it makes for a more believable nemesis to batman.

But as a stand alone film this looks very interesting. I like that his transformation takes some time. It’s not just one scene and then poof super villain.

Same. This is truly the first DC movie that I’m actually interested in seeing other than Wonder Woman, which I really liked.
I fell asleep in my comfy chair in the middle of the day when we saw Man of Steel. It was a vendor event for like NetApp or something at one of those places with the reclining chairs and food and booze.
Me - “this movie sucks, I’m going to lean back and take a nap”
