Growing up this was a regular thing. We’d often get snow high enough to jump into from the roof. We’d also make snow warrens throughout the front yards and read comics, play games, and otherwise hang out.
Downside were all the corpuscles they found in the spring because of the cars that skid off the roads into ditches and got covered up before anyone knew someone was there.
When I was very little, Detroit winters often provided snow deeper 'n I was tall. I would walk laughing into the snow at the edges of sidewalks and driveways. It would also stick around until Spring. Not anymore, not for decades.
