Going to go all conspiracy brain here: this would make sense if the right is planning to jettison TFG via untimely demise, what with all their assassination talk. In a court regarding all the FBI stuff, he’ll make them look REALLY bad, especially the particularly brown-nosed toadies. Can’t have a trial without a defendant, right?
