Really?

That must be why.

I’ll settle for that.

I have no clue, I’m waiting to see if the person I asked will actually answer my question.

Who are you, my wife? (Hey-oooo!)

Well. my answer is that some part of my mind wishes it were Lynda again too; however, I am very excited for Gal Gadot to be on the big screen for a full length film. I think she is going to be awesome given her small but impressive part in DoJ.

I did. I was actually able to enjoy the Adam West version again after seeing it.

What about all the other big-screen incarnations of the Batman? Now I’m simply curious.

My thoughts exactly! The music was decent, singing was terrible and didn’t fit at all, but the movie looks like it will be incredible.

I certainly hope that you mean womanism… /s

See, we females don’t HAVE blockbuster movies coming out, year after year after year, with actual females that younger females can perhaps look upon as powerful. That span of TV feminism that was oh-so-brief in the late 1970s/early 1980s got killed off like a one-shot hood in a comic book.

Having a female hero in her own movie, and not co-starring with or being overshadowed by male counterparts is a big deal to me. I can’t speak for every other female of my generation because, but I’m sure some would agree with me, if not many.

I avoided all of the rest of that era’s Batman movies, though I still slightly want to see the one with Clooney. I thought Christian Bale was fantastic, but his 2nd & 3rd movies should have been at least a half-hour shorter. I was not impressed with Ben Affleck; I thought he did a decent job but was as poorly cast in that role as Keaton. Affleck simply didn’t fit the part for “that” Batman role, and the costume didn’t help things. I do think he would have done very well cast in a Dark Knight storyline (ala the Frank Miller comic).

I certainly hope that you mean womanism… /s

Now you’re talking about a way of life! Or of a quote that is so witty, nobody can outdo it.

I recently re-watched the “Beware the Gray Ghost” episode of Batman: The Animated Series with my kids. It’s a surprisingly touching storyline featuring Adam West’s voice portrayal of an actor who struggled to find work for decades after the superhero TV show he had starred in was cancelled.

In one of those life-imitating-art-imitating-life situations, this actually marked a revival of sorts for Adam West’s career and in the years since he’s had a number of voice acting roles in cartoons and video games (mostly as himself).

BTAS was really well-done, that episode in particular.

At what point did I say it wasn’t a big deal or otherwise downplayed the importance to you or anyone else?

I merely stated a part of me misses Lynda Carter playing the part.

To be perfectly blunt, the success of WW is more than a gender specific battle in Hollywood terms…it is also about can DC itself make a coherent and sustainable superhero franchise. DC has fallen on its face, and it needs WW to hit a homerun to have an viable chance to compete against Marvel Studios…especially with how good GotGvol2 is.

I’ve been wanting a kick-ass Wonder Woman movie since I wore gold wristbands and spun a lariat around while watching Lynda Carter kick ass. And WW in World War 1? Just awesome.

Imagine Dragons, though… not so much. Rghgh you kids and your screamo or whatever it’s called.

I think Gal Godot will be great, though I’d have been equally fine with Lupita Nyong’o (not that my opinion has any importance).

You didn’t. I wanted to emphasize it. And my feelings.

Considering Wonder Woman is the only superheroine who’s able to be well-marketed, it’s going to remain a “superhero” franchise world, I’m afraid.

I’m disappointed in Marvel, as they never had a stand-alone superheroine who could actually have her own series and not be a mere duplicate of the males with whom she fought crime or Galactus. They had possibilities, but none that were as well-developed as their chests.

She would have been great, but she’s going to be co-starring in the upcoming and amazing-sounding Black Panther movie.

Crossing my fingers for a Squirrel Girl movie.
