Are there differences in countries as to what’s called a Seal and what’s called a Sea Lion? I thought if it has ear flaps and walks around on big flippers it’s a Sea Lion.
Sea lions and fur seals are in the same family have ear flaps and walk upright on land. True seals have no external ear flaps and crawl on land. Basically, it’s a case of the common name and the taxonomy not matching up.

They have a very nifty hospital for rescued seals in Cornwall.
