This is a little creepy given that everyone’s faces are clearly visible. I’m sure they got all the proper image releases signed.
This is the same house that posted another video, earlier in the evening, of a mom cramming her kids basket full of candy despite the little one saying “Mom, that’s too much!” Hang on and I’ll find it…
Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FjMtyA-_PY
I’m so sorry, it’s not the same house at all!!! But in my head, it is, and it makes a nice story.
I Want to Believe.
that this was not staged for clicks.
The slightly hammy acting and look to the camera might all have been innocent. Then again…
[whispers: did I do it right daddy?]
Shitty as that parent is, I am mostly struck by people recording trick or treaters and posting the videos. Is this OK now? It seems pretty creepy.
Even if it is, at least it’s modeling compassionate behavior. That’s worth some clicks in my book.
If character is doing the right thing when nobody is looking, why not assume everybody is looking?
I’m not crying! YOU’RE crying! Stop looking at meee!
I hope that the LifeHacker author who suggested putting out an empty candy bowl as a “clever” way of saving money without making people think you’re a jerk gets to see this video.
Remember, even if you manage to fool others, you will still know just what a jerk you really are.
But what kind of candy was it? Did he just take all of his candy corns out of his bag? If so, this should be considered an act of cruelty.
