Another vintage couple I saw recently, this time in England:
No one said it is or should be outlawed.
Doing it all so blithely, as a recreation of a blissful era that really wasn’t, well, that does seem worthy of derision, or at least questioning.
Otherwise, sez I, enjoy your retro trinkets, happy mutant!
Beforetimes, indeed. From that story, no doubt this policy has at least partially changed:
the Butchart Gardens joins many international attractions … in not permitting costumes or masks to be worn on-site."
You can buy media players with RCA outs, and run them into a converter which outputs coax.
You can buy coax > rabbit ears adapters still.
So it is doable. And probably not much different than her using 50’s style makeup from Besame (which I am told by my sister she is using), in terms of “cheating”.

Mrs Fay needs to scour the charity shops for vintage plastic ware and then put on the most awesome cosplay Tupperware party:
Couldn’t they just cosplay something more wholesome from the 50’s like Irving Klaw photoshoots or Ed Wood film productions
June 15 – The first Pizza Hut restaurant opens in Wichita, Kansas.
Wow, trippy. With Anais Nin too!
Imagine that opening in theaters nationwide in the 50s. Heads might not roll, but someone would surely demand that someone’s head roll!
Sort of proto Matthew Barney too.
Rating: 3/4 stars
I are confuse.
Did Marilyn have some connection to Anais?
I think she means ‘Anais = yum.’
Yes, what @Melizmatic said. Anais Nin is absolutely swoon worthy as a writer… even her non-sexy stuff.
Thanks. And, I agree!
I see women say doctors deny them Tubals on r/2XChromosomes practically every day.
It’s by no means over.
It’s practically a cliche post on that subreddit: “Went to my normal Ob/Gyn yesterday, asked them about a Tubal. They said ‘we don’t do it on women your age/we need you to come in with your husband/bf/hookup before you can make that decision/we only do it for people who’ve already had at least 2 kids’ or just no.”
If r/2XC has taught me anything it’s that women’s health concerns are routinely not taken seriously, even by other women. It’s fucking shameful.
And tasted nothing like what it is today…
ETA: I grew up in Wichita, and really miss “early days” Pizza Hut and Godfather’s.
Wow! I guess we still ARE living in the 1950s.
