I’m not sure if the fine people who do the other “X Years of Y Style” videos made this one or if it’s a parody. I can see either being the case, and loved this whoever did it.

Somebody tell me if this is the long-tie, bad-fitting-suit wearing, ferret-haired old guy before I click on it, yeah?

All I can say is…each iteration I thought “That is the peak of douchiness” and yet each iteration was douchier than than its predecessor.

I weep for the future.

I like how into that model seems to be. His little spiel at the end is incredibly on point.

What’s curious is how old douchebaggy styles have become perfectly acceptable in the modern day. That style from the '40s is your favourite craft-beer dealing progressive bartender. I’ve met a lot of interesting people that love the rockabilly aesthetic, certainly wouldn’t consider them douches.

That said, I think the 90’s saw an exponential increase in the evolution of douche style, and they forgot to do the proudboys-style haircut of the current white-nationalist right.

I identified a little too closely with the 80’s.

Damn.

I didn’t get that one. Isn’t that how normal people look? Maybe a little greyer?

I love that he completely embraces the role, no matter the decade,.

I do have some quarrels with some of the style choices though.

There aren’t any ties or suits involved at all, actually! (it’s all about hair and accessories in this video).

Cripes, I forgot that the pukka-shell-necklace douches used to wear visors upside-down.

The 80s one didn’t translate as well without the Lacoste polo shirt. It was the typical 80s preppy/rich-frat-boy douche.

Yes… all the accessories but all of them in the wrong place somehow. I remember that look and I remember thinking “God… why?”

They somehow did the 80’s while completely forgetting these two hairstyles, from two of my “favorite” NFL douchebags.

If you don’t see how the style was douchy . . . .

Some of them seemed a bit off. They could probably have two sets of d’bag hairstyles in the 60’s since that decade is oddly bifurcated and the 80’s. The 70’s d’bag should have had feathered hair parted in the middle, porn stache and a chest medallion. The mullet was more the early 80’s.

I also wonder if they would make a video using a similar derogatory name about shallow women.

It seems like Val Kilmer wore all those hairstyles at some point.
