In a few years when Russia or china reaches out to these same kids who are being tortured they will easily be swayed to come gunning for us. When Central America attacks the usa, republican scum must be put on the front line armed with soap and toothpaste to defend our great nation. This sin against humanity will come back to bite the united states in the ass and well it should. My great regret is that trump and his minions are likely to die of old age before they are held accountable

Yes, but I’d be wary, since sometimes, private, christian companies get involved, and they end up rushing through adoptions of some of these kids, even though their parents are alive (albeit in a different country). This would be especially true under the “government can’t do anything right” mindset of the current administration.
But otherwise, yes - if you can’t find family in the US for unaccompanied minors, then foster care can fill the gap. Cages are just an unacceptable answer here, whatever administration is doing it. But at the very least they could give those children necessities.

She did, she did. It’s also technically true that she’s a “Trump official.” But someone who won’t acknowledge that there’s some level of distortion there isn’t being honest with themselves.
Put together several hundred thousand of those distortions and you’ve got yourself a fake news problem.
Well, i guess this is the one thing that’s definitely going to trigger me for the year. The less i say about it the better but seriously anyone that defends these practices as border control or immigration procedures is not someone i want to have any associations with.
I think that’s as polite as i can put my thoughts down right now.

Children are being held in cages, and denied soap and toothbrushes. Maybe the vagaries about how the legal system works aren’t really a priority here? Yeah, I get it, context matters. So does basic human decency. Omitting some context isn’t gonna re-elect Trump, nor is adding it gonna give these kids what they need. But at least you get to sleep at night knowing you fought the good fight on the internet.

But it is! This story is the fake news. The right wing are linking to this post, and the many others like it, pointing out the inaccuracies (whether willful or just ignorant), and saying, “look, liberals don’t care about facts.” This post, right here.
And it’s such an own-goal! This is crazy-making. There’s an infinity of completely un-distorted horror happening on the border. Post some of that! Why post this, the one thing that gives the right an opening to ignore you, the one thing that gives them a psychological get-out-of-jail-free card?!!
