One summer in Florida I found a bunch of sea slugs and kept them in a bucket for a while. They were a lovely caramel color with pale blue cerata. Mostly they crawled around but would occasionally gyrate and float up to the top then drift back down.
Okay, these are definitely Pokémon.
Jorunna is just one genus of nudibranch. Nudibranchs are popular for underwater photographers because they combine the traits of being very striking and quite slow moving, so it’s easy to take a photo of them.
Since I’m a new user (although I’ve been reading Boing Boing for the best part of a decade), I can’t embed photos, but I can provide a link to a photo I took of a Jorunna funebris on Ningaloo Reef, northwestern Australia.
