Possibly even inspiring, if it comes from a place of genuine altruism, and is not merely posted as a pedestal upon which to prop oneself up above others.

I’m inspired by this example of two individuals recognizing each other’s common humanity in the face of Nature’s wrath.

Of course, it’s just possibly a particularly Canadian form of “empathy”.
