Well, I think now he’d do what a lot of us do, and click on all sorts of diversionary sites and games and such, instead of on The Task at Hand. It’s the latter that I think of him as preferring not to do.

More and more, we desk jockeys are all Bartleby now. Partly because so much diversion and distraction is just a click away, but also because it’s become so clear that less and less of our work redounds back as benefits to us.
