Apparently he wasn’t down with the robot wearing his signature baseball cap and needed to be convinced.
So they won out on the hat (more or less) but unfortunately he refused to provide the voice for the character.

The Hulk Smash joke was
And Clea Duvall is involved, too!
I enjoyed it. Marvel always seems to show respect to even the most comic of their comic book characters. Never thought I’d see Jack Russell and Man-thing on the screen.
Thank you for taking that on you. No, strike that. Thank you for the warning. Sorry you had to watch it for warning us.
I’m not sure if I’m allowed to ask this here but, having watched the latest She-Hulk, and thoroughly enjoyed it, my channel of choice has now vanished. Can anyone recommend another channel?
Interestingly Thor: Ragnarok hinted that Man-Thing was on Sakaar at some point (along with others including Beta-Ray Bill).
ETA: internet sez Man-Thing had a cameo in Agents of SHIELD too but that show never really hooked me.
That retro throwback to the 80’s tv series?
Loved it.
An apparent reboot that I didn’t know existed. I remember the original on PBS, but as a kid I wasn’t interested. Many good actors, but still quite white, as I imagine 30s Yorkshire to have been. Matthew Lewis is looking right handsome, but an upper-class twit for a couple episodes.
At San Diego Comic-Con’s Star Trek Universe panel, Mount and the cast of the animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks announced that there would be a crossover episode for the two shows which will feature a mix of live-action and animation. Mount told Collider, “If you thought we took some big swings in Season 1, and we did in a lot of different ways, we’re going for the rafters in Season 2.”
So the Rings of Power finale revealed some things. For one, the guy that everyone assumes is a young Gandalf is almost certainly, in fact, a young Gandalf. Or at least a wizard, which, I mean, duh. Plus elves aren’t nearly as smart as they like everyone to think they are. “Sauron was about to trick us into making an evil ring, but we’ll show him! We’ll make three rings!!”
What I got from the Silmarillion is that the Elves in The Lord of the Rings are incredibly wise because they have spent thousands and thousands of years learning from just the absolute worst mistakes.
Just watched both seasons of Los Espookys on HBO max. What a delightfully weird show. Surreal, with a lot of magical realism and completely unexplained odd things happening. Really enjoyed it and I hope there will be more
How depressing is it that my first gut reaction was “it’s not a boy?”?
I wonder if she got pregnant, so they had to hold her until the baby was born so as to get rid of the evidence (hopefully through secret adoption, not outright infanticide).
As a Gibson fan, I was prepared to like this.
So far? I like it.
This seems like it should be good
but the first episode was almost entirely about who’s sleeping with whom and who’s mad about it
I suppose I should watch another episode or two before forming a real opinion
I highly recommend the movie 7500, for working so well without incidental music, for unfolding in real time, for unrelentingly staying in the cockpit and not cutting to external shots. A chilling movie. I just doubt I could watch it a second time.
Watching Thunderbirds for the first time. Is this nepotism or is Tracy a universal name like Smith? /s
ETA: Ah, nepotism. International Rescue is a privatized organization. Hooray, neoliberalism!
The 1966 marionette version, or the 2015 CGI version?
(Or God forbid, the 2004 movie)
