I loved the teaser with Skinny Pete!
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll check it out.
I’d heard about this; I am kinda excited.
I think Gilligan may have included a subliminal political statement in the film, just based on Skinny Pete’s dialog in that short clip:
There was lots of emphasis on the neo-Nazis keeping Jesse Pinkman in a cage, as a slave.
I really hope he goes there…
Yeah, that will be interesting if he does.
How do you get certain people to care about little Brown kids in cages? You put them in their shoes - have a handsome, well-liked grown White dude in a cage, to evoke their empathy.
Knowing the BrBa universe like I do, I would be very surprised if there are not a lot of graphic flashbacks, to demonstrate Jesse’s level of post traumatic stress.
They hinted at how bad it was during the last season, but I can imagine that they’ll deal with it more systemically in this film.
Aye; there were other narrative arcs to deal with in the last season, so the audience only got small silvers here and there of the torturous Hell Jesse was living in.
There’s also the matter of Brock, the now orphaned young son of Jesse’s murdered GF, Andrea; I’m sure that plays into the film somehow.
Taking the kids to see a couple classics at a Godzilla film festival this weekend, because watching the world being torn apart by big rubbery monsters provides nice escapism from watching the world being torn apart by fascists.
San Francisco might not have affordable housing or adequate parking or a solution for this human poo problem but let it never be said that we lack CULTURE.
Glad I gave it a chance; this pretty well sums it up…
OK, one of the things I learned today is that the guy who does the motion capture performance for Godzilla in the new movies looks like this:
Damn.
Who needs atomic fire breath, right?
I saw him in the lobby but didn’t realize who he was until later. Apparently he also did Colossus in Deadpool. So I guess he’s basically the Fabio of Andy Serkises.
I rewatched Shin Godzilla on the weekend with my eldest (adult) son, having piqued his interest by describing it as a movie about monsters and meetings. Lots of great rubbery monsters, but lots of photocopiers too.
I know what I’ll be watching over the weekend.
I am in nerd heaven today…
Stupid one box is being all generic but the link is to a Doctor Who Classic channel.
Started watching downloaded episodes of the Netflix miniseries “The Family” on my iPad and then finished watching “Captain Marvel” on the plane, followed by “Avengers: Endgame”.
That’s a lot of good versus evil to digest in one day.
Never forget that the evil we must fight right now is not coming from other galaxies; it’s been massing forces for decades right here on Earth.
