We’re just about through this miniseries, which is really pretty well done despite a few anachronisms (eg, people wearing rubber-soled boots during the Joseon period):

I made my kid watch Pee Wees Big Adventure. She liked it, I think. I made her watch the show once, and it was too bonkers for her i think.

We watched it with her mom through part of it. My kid was sick so I went over there. She came home from shopping and watched most of it with us, as she liked it even more than me.
I was going to just let her watch it with Large Marge, as I too was freaked out by the scene. I mean, that is one thing that made it memorable, and at 10 I was sure she wouldn’t be permanently scared for life.
But as it approached her mom called from the kitchen, “Tell her there is a scary part next.”
sigh, “There is a scary part coming up.”
“Scary part?”
“It is just a jump scare.”
“… and when they pulled the body from the twisted burning wreckage, it looked like THIS - blaaaaaggagaga!”
(mom) “Was that scary?”
o_0 “Um, no. Not all.”
“Because you were told it was a jump scare.” Oh well, she didn’t seem to hate it, so there’s that.

Dr. Strange was good; the visuals were amazing,
And I think Benedict Cumberbatch was channeling Magnum, PI for his American accent; every time he spoke, I could swear I was listening to Tom Selleck.

Top Gear The Grand Tour
Arrival was a pretty good movie if you like sci-fi. A bit more old school and deeper.

I am still making my way through the Fairy Tail! anime series.
Watching these I am not sure what has more crazy deus ex machina going on… this kind of anime series or 1930s/40s movie serials.
Also thanks to @M_M I am working my way through Doctor Satan as well.

I watched the first episode after my friend said his kids liked it. I liked it, but I need to watch a few more to make sure there is nothing her mom wouldn’t like.
Oh and I guess the 2nd “episode” of Little Witch Acadamie is on netflix. It is an hour long almost and my kid liked it, but it was subtitled, so I sort of read most of it to her. Sooo - even though it comes out in January, I am betting it won’t be dubbed… so, we may have to wait for a dubbed version, or she will have to get used to reading subtitles.
