Yup. The usual things police dogs are trained to do include
- Searching for people - usually good, especially in search and rescue, but even that has the slave-patrol history
- Sniffing out politically incorrect drugs - never good.
- Sniffing out explosives and dangerous chemicals - fine
- Biting people - Officers like to use euphemisms about “taking down” people, but they wear big heavy padded suits when training them, because they’re training them to bite people.
- Propaganda, because as you say, dogs are awesome.

Another sad thing I’ve seen is a lot of stories when you search for “k9 friendly fire.” That’s in addition to those killed by suspects.
