This nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles and they are under assault by men in black robes who were not elected by you.
As a side note, this kind of comment, along with the one about the “unelected bureaucrats” carries the unspoken assumption that only people who are elected - members of Congress - should have any power at all. Some offices are apolitical by design, and it infuriates people who have the power to gerrymander, and feel entitled to all of the power.
We now return you to your previously scheduled all-gay pro-gay gay-loving gayfest of gayness.
You forgot the nation and humanity at large. This jackass was also one of three senators who voted against removing the Confederate Treason Flag.
Quoting this because it’s awesomely correct.
Why are there so many songs about rainbows? And what’s on the other side?
What’s on the other side?
“The church must rise!”
In the immortal worlds of Pope Francis:
Chill the fuck off, boludo!!!
How long before this guy gets caught with his boytoy lover?
Yep, and I also believe that 2 of those ‘men in black robes’ are actually women. And our founding fathers, did very specifically, create the Judicial branch the way it is set up, in a little document called The Constitution. And I think they like the way it works when it works for them, like getting their president elected.
And to sanctify deviant behavior from five judges, it’s time to make our stand, church!
He refers to the legislature as “church.” Good luck with that separation, State.
I wonder if his car is a hand basket.
Sadly, a lot of people have no idea of the meaning of “establishment” that the amendment was referencing, or what the problem with it was.
Wait, WAIT…Christ, what an asshole!
There. Much better now.
Dear sirs, thank you for taking the heat off of Texas…
That’s what makes it so hard to respond to. I used to think that arguing with someone like him was like dealing with a hydra of wrongness where for every wrong argument that gets cut off two new ones grow in its place, but I think your simile is much better. The wrong arguments are never replaced by a mere two.
3, actually. Ginsberg, Sotomayor, and Kagan.
Of course none of his anti-rainbow flag hyperbole has anything to do with the fact that the Confederate flag absolutely and undeniably stands for racism and the defense of slavery.
In fact, it seems to me he went off on that tangent because the arguments about “heritage” are so hard to defend (“heritage of what exactly?” is the obvious question.)
[edit: I see now that he did make some arguments in defense of the flag, though they also seem to avoid the issue of “does it stand for slavery or not?”]
WELL…According to the story, Eve was just an afterthought after Adam complained that all the other animals had females. Adam was originally created to be GOD’s companion.
So that’s why they had the falling out. At least God got to keep the apartment.
It is a well known fact that prisms are the tool of the devil.
I suggest Southern states band together and ban prisms. Because it would be hilarious to watch them try to implement it.
