White venture capitalist sees black men in shared office building gym, calls 911

Call an ambulance, first thing. EMTs might have been able to safely intervene.

They were in the same state. We (Minnesota) had assholes with guns at the Governor’s mansion, so the Governor decided to move his family somewhere else. The GOVERNOR had to move his family because of these assholes, but heaven forbid some uppity brown people decide to protest. We can’t have that now, can we? CAN WE?

Don’t you mean…

Austin’s lease was terminated over the incident and he has since offered an apology saying, via email, “Should have handled it differently. Not my job to have done anything.”

Hardly the lengthy, contrite apology I’m told he gave.

You mean the one he allegedly gave to another random White person online who wasn’t even involved or physically present during Mr Austin’s racist outburst?

I mean, his action was racist as fuck, and he should have acknowledged that. “Not my job to have done anything” does not indicate that he will examine his thinking at all. It just means that the next time he sees someone who he thinks is the wrong color, he will shut up about it lest he be publicly shamed again. This is someone who not only wasn’t contrite, but who seems incapable of being contrite.

Then again, what do you expect from someone who says this shit without a hint of irony:

Everyday Minnesotans just want to be left alone and not bullied into changing the names of our lakes, our streets, our schools, our landmarks and our cities. We’re sick of the “holier than thou” morality tone coming from politicians, media and activists.
Everyday Minnesotans are tired of being demanded by the elites (media, activists and politicians) that we change our beliefs, our values and our thoughts in order to conform to their worldviews. We take offense to the threat of being called a derogatory name merely for having a difference of opinion.

It’s adorable that he thinks landmarks are named for accomplishment or heroism, rather than whatever vain rich white guy happen to do it first.

I really love his rational for not changing the name of Lake Calhoun. What was the act of heroism that won John Calhoun the right to have a lake named for him? Outbidding someone to buy a prime field hand?

Not even. He’s never even been to Minnesota.

I might be wrong but it was my understanding you could also dial 911 instead of 999 because of the prevalence of american media and all that. There might be a lot of kids living on youtube content that may not even know of 999.

I know 999 only from YouTube content. I’m an American who has never been to the UK.

Huh! Go figure. That’s neat. The stuff my nieces watch on youtube seem to be nothing but american videos. I’m just pretty sure they brought the number into use because we hear it in so many films and such.

So they take offense at having to show the same consideration for others that they demand for themselves.

Nothing new to see here.

Honestly, it takes a lot of nerve projecting your own plan-of-action on someone you know nothing about.

The Oz authorities occasionally run ad campaigns along the lines of “please stop calling 911, you TV-addled idiots. The emergency number here has always been 000”.

Poor wording on my part. I should have said I don’t think you’d want to risk an encounter with the police. Less forceful, more suggestive.
