Why (or why not) to vote for Hillary Clinton

The idea that people were throwing money at Clinton were saying she was a stripper is a really obvious deflection from the point. I disagree strongly with using the term “whore” as an insult (“corporate whore”), but that’s in large part because I respect the rights of sex workers and don’t moralize about it.

But those dollar bills had nothing to do with strippers or sex workers, and everyone knows it. Clinton would never sell her own body for money, she’ll just sell out the people of America for money.

And let’s not mistake Sanders supporters for Clinton haters. There is definitely some overlap there, but showering Clinton with dollar bills is something Trump supporters might happily pick up (Trump might even supply the $1 bills). Clinton’s net favourability went negative in April of 2015, way before Sanders was on a sizeable number of people’s minds. People don’t hate Clinton because of Sanders, they hate Clinton because of Clinton.

America is a race to the bottom for ethics. Is there a rule that says she should release her speeches? No. Does everyone else do it? No. Should she do it? Yes.

Can anyone think of a reason not to do so other than she says things in those speeches that people wouldn’t like? By doing so she would start the precedent, since anyone who wanted to attack her for what she said would be rebuked, “Well, I see you don’t release your speeches.”

Two reasons for Why (** *** **) to vote for Hillary Clinton, are two important quotes from Hillary Clinton’s victory speech last night, after winning the New York democratic presidential primary.

“To all the people who supported Senator Sanders, I believe there is much more that unites us, than divides us”

“The motto of this state is ‘Excelsior’ (‘Ever Upwards’), so let’s go out and win this election–and all rise together”

If you are going to play this line, maybe don’t call Sanders supporters uninformed children the week before. The problem is that Sanders supporters responded to Sanders’ authenticity, not to changing slogans. It’s not going to be easy to convince them, and looking at this board, it seems like her anti-Sanders-supporter comments in the past may have permanently alienated some.

Anyway, with New York won and her still having a sizable lead in California polls, I think it’s now fair to assume she’ll take the nomination, but it’s still not on lock. If California polls start shifting and put Sanders ahead she might have to go back to maligning Sanders supporters in a few weeks. That’s kind of the problem. Whatever she says she says out of expediency, it could change at an time.

What Clinton should have realized from the beginning is that she needs people to vote for her in the primary and in the general. If Clinton locks up the nomination, you’ll find yourself arguing to the same Sanders supporters why they should vote for Clinton. But it won’t be why they should vote for her over Sanders, it will be why they should vote for her at all. Of course if they are a bunch of dumb kids who fall for simple arguments, that should be easy.

Great day for the Democratic Party. Great day for continuing the Bernie Sanders political revolution. Bernie Sanders understands the importance of continuing his political revolution, even if he does not win the democratic presidential nomination.

Bernie Sanders is 74 years old, unfortunately because of his advanced age, this is his only chance for him to win the democratic nomination for president. It is important for Bernie’s revolution to have a impact on this presidential election and field future democratic presidential candidates-- many of whom may be supporting Bernie during this democratic presidential nomination.

Bernie has said in the past about the importance of electing a democrat to the White House in 2016–and the catastrophic political, social and cultural consequences of electing a republican in 2016, to the office of President of the United States.

Bernie, through his campaign manager affirmed his support for the winner of the democratic presidential nomination again on April 20th.

Excerpts below are from: Bernie Sanders To Stay A Democrat For Life And Support Clinton If She Is The Nominee

Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign manager Jeff Weaver announced this evening that Sen. Sanders will be a member of the Democratic Party for life, and he will support Hillary Clinton if she wins the nomination

Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver announced that not only will Bernie Sanders stay in the Democratic Party for life, but he will also support Hillary Clinton if she is the Democratic nominee…

…Those of us who have spent years typing (I-VT) after Sanders’ name had better get used to the change. This is a good move for Sen. Sanders. He will have a chance to challenge, change, and reshape the party from within, because Bernie Sanders is now a Democrat for life.

I know many Bernie Sanders supporters and they, like Bernie, will support whoever wins the democratic presidential nomination. They will do so because they, like Bernie, understand the importance of electing a democrat to the White House, because among many other reasons, a democratic president can appoint the next several U.S. Supreme Court Justices.

Donald Trump, Ted Cruz or John Kasich appointing the next several U…S. Supreme Court Justices means you will have a 6-3 conservative leaning U.S.Supreme Court–and witness the end of a woman’s right to choose, the end of same-sex marriage and LGBTQ civil rights, the end of (and gutting of) the 1965 Voting Rights Act, unchecked expansion of voting suppression and repression, The expansion of Citizens United…etc…etc…

Vote for whoever wins the 2016 democratic presidential nomination, Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton will.:scream:

Thanks Jane :scream:

Bernie Sanders wife Jane :bride_with_veil: Sanders rocks !

Excerpt from: Jane Sanders: Bernie and I will support Hillary Clinton if she wins

Sen. Bernie Sanders’ wife, Jane, says she and her husband will support Hillary Clinton if she ends up clinching the Democratic nomination for president, and she’s encouraging her husband’s supporters to do the same.

Jane Sanders also said in an interview with The Daily Beast she hopes Clinton and her voter base will support Bernie if he becomes the party’s nomination for president.

:scream: :astonished: :sob:

I don’t think you’ve said anything to convince a “Bernie or Bust” voter to vote Clinton. Clinton’s platform includes extending the statute of limitations on financial crimes, going after people who commit financial crimes and holding executive accountable when their subordinates commit crimes. Also it includes making sure firms aren’t too big and too risky:

Hillary’s plan would give regulators more authority to force overly complex or risky firms to reorganize, downsize, or break apart.

If she wanted Sanders supporters to support her, she should highlight that she also plans to prosecute bankers involved in the financial collapse and to break up big banks. Unless, I don’t know, she doesn’t plan to do those things.
