Precisely what is lacking is conviction.
Oh great, now I’m picturing that. C’mon asteroid!
Don’t reactionaries just make you sick?!?

well you could always look at it as spoiler follows
watching Cruise get killed over and over in many and varied ways
I remember seeing Woody Allen appeared and did a stand up bit on some awards show or other around '99 or '00 or ‘01. The audience loved him. At that moment I knew if Woody friggin’ Allen was “rehabilitated”, that there was literally nothing a hollywood celebrity could do to be perma-banned from polite society. I was totally baffled, I was thinking, am I the only person in this country that isn’t crazy? He never should have been invited to be seen in public again.
Against that backdrop (as well as all the other horrible behavior people have been getting away with in showbiz) Mel Gibson continuing to be successful is completely unremarkable.
It’s a decent movie, and yes as your spoiler points out there is something of a bonus besides.

Wanted to pop back in and say that based on the latest episode of Star Trek: Discovery, I have a little more hope we’re going to get a show with hope for the future. Though the pilot was the worst of any of the Star Trek series pilots, it really seems to be improving. I’ve decided to give it a least a season.
In other news, latest episode of The Orville was also its best IMO. Maybe we just need two Star Trek series.
Anyway, starting to feel like good times to be a Star Trek fan.
