This looks like a good idea, but I wonder if they’ve also taken steps to avoid habituation to smells associated with humans.
You can actually buy fox urine online, which is sometimes used to deter garden pests. If the staff were especially dedicated maybe they would apply that to their masks and clothing to block out the human smells. (Not that I’d blame them if they didn’t want to go that far.)
