If it wasn’t mango but rather stacks of coins, would that change the story? Does this woman not have the right to defend her property from theft or is she expected to allow people to steal from her?
I don’t think “he was stealing one of my mangoes” counts as “an imminent and immediate threat of serious bodily harm or death”. Granted, this is Florida, home of George Zimmerman… So who knows?
It’s not “bizarre” because someone in Florida shot at a person stealing a mango—it’s bizarre because they were arrested for it.
