Yikes.

At least she’s okay.

Those phones in elevators are all fake aren’t they?

They all connect to my landline. I like to give people false hope of rescue.

I always always always take the stairs. I don’t think I’d get by in central New York.

Indeed, if I was applying for a job over there, I’d want to know what floor the offices were on.

Don’t they have regulations for phones in these things?

I’d freak.
Apparently there was no family who noticed her missing and figured out where she was??
That’s even more sad…

After three days, they’ll need a cleaning lady to clean the elevator.

I figured there was a whackload of regulations. I reckon some inspector or another could be held liable here.

Roald Dahl had a short story about that.

Oddly enough I have asked in the past about the elevator inspection on file because I was that kind of nerd.

Wonderful story, hadn’t read that one. A different kind of harasser. Interesting that the word “ETHICS” is printed in large letters at the top. #TimesUpElevatorsDown

Maybe she didn’t speak English? Might be an illegal immigrant and paranoid about alerting the authorities to her presence and worried that the phone would connect directly to the cops.

I wondered how that could be legal, too. Unfortunately, even with an emergency call button or phone, bad things can happen:

Wow, an Elevator Management company was asleep at the switch? Well that kinda hooks into my cynicism about corporate shit.
