Woman suing US Gov't for body cavity search and bill for $575

Far more interesting is the fact that rape is involved in 100% of all rapes.

In 2001 Portugal decriminalized all drugs, and now has the lowest drug use rate in all of Europe.

can’t we just take the people involved and forcefully shove things into all their orifices without their consent, expose them to some xray radiation, and call it even? seems fair to me…

Wow Texas, Arizona sees your awful sexist/racist/theist rights-violating, and raises you.

Are those two engaged in some sort of shitty-off?

The drugs are there. They just have to look harder.

Possibly it’s kept in her soul.

Read it again. First there was visual inspections, then when that didn’t pan out, she was sent to the hospital where a doctor probed her (that’s the cavity search) and THEN the xrays were done.

In a related story, now that the fog has cleared, it turns out they were all speaking Spanish the whole time, they were just really high…

This is the line between unjust and anti-just.

The oath isn’t legally binding and doctors aren’t forced to take it, it has nothing to do with their non-participation.

These are US Border Agents. They operate under Federal, not State law.

Say what you want about national socialism, but at least it’s an ethos.

What the fuck is it about Americans and assholes.

Seriously. Deliverance. Explain that American exceptionalism.

We go to war in a country over WMDs. We fuck it up to high heaven. We rebuild it by giving them pizza and soda one day and that’s about it. And then… we set up Abu Ghraib. And Deliverance people.

It’s straight up Deliverance.

And then… take a bunch of photos. To show people.

And nothing happens.

There’s alien abduction stories. And area 51. The most plausible hypothesis… yes. America found alien technology. Adapted it for use in recreating Deliverance for random people.

Why America. Why are you so…

Fucking great?

Did you read what I said? That drugs contribute to rape. Sure, the small percentage of rapes that are done by enforcement would go down, but all the other rapes done by drug users would go up.

But lots of places where drugs have been decriminalized, like Colorado or Portugal, drug trafficking is still very much illegal and still very much enforced.

Art said "Yet another situation that simply would not exist if drugs were legalized."
You said "not sure of your logic here"
I said ā€œif drugs weren’t illegal, they wouldn’t have been looking for them inside the girl.ā€ I was explaining his logic. I agree that rape is a horrific thing, and i agree that (certain) drugs could and can exacerbate the issue and the dangers to women. I was merely trying to help you see art’s point, which i felt you had missed. The trolling comment was not meant to be snarky, it was sincere.
Edited to add - honestly i think you misunderstood Art’s meaning in the first post, and that’s okay! It happens to us all from time to time
