dmdb.org says it was first broadcast on Dec. 20, 1981. Coincidentally or not, it was also the first time Pac-Man Fever was played on Dr. Demento too.

And I remember that Subaru song! It was very obviously inspired by the style of Tom Lehrer (the music and lyrics, not the vocals)
