Wow, that is interesting - never come across that before. I see in der Pampas all the time. But yeah - classic Denglish, to take a word like ‘Outback’ that has a fairly specific meaning, and apply it slightly but consistently wrongly/differently.

Even true here in Tokyo.
The murdery tendency isn’t from the historically Muslim parts of Europe but it’s impolite to clearly say that the murdery ones are the European Arab Muslims.

OTOH, white supremacists are a lot more willing to attack asylum seekers and those who support them – there have been more than 450 attacks on German politicians (317) and aid workers (144) this year, and 832 crimes against asylum-seeker accommodation centres between January and October, of which 772 were by right wing extremists. Last year there were over 1000 crimes recorded.
