You should be able to implant an endangered species embryo into a non-endangered host. If you split the morula to cells and let them multiply, you should be able (would that work?) to get identical twins (octet?).
I can imagine a program of mass farming. If one shot farmed elephant can pay for one or two “surpluses” to be released to live, could be a net gain for the species, the economy, the labs, the locals, the hunters.
There’s a lot of money in hunting. Don’t fight it - take advantage of it.
Well, hypothetically, there is a moral issue with extraditing people to nations known to practice cruel and unusual punishment, even if the person in question is guilty. This may or may not describe Zimbabwe, I dunno.
The irony of the American government criticizing cruel and unusual punishment is noted.
There are 20,000 lions in Zimbavwe which due to habitat loss, cannot support that number. The government will cull (kill) about 600. But if they sell permits to hunters, these lions that would be shot and wasted become about 3% of the GDP. Some humans still have the urge to hunt - why in this age of modernity, civility and global well being?
As you say, he is GUILTY everyone knows he is GUILTY and must be punished in Zimbabwe where he is GUILTY. American courts are notoriously forgiving and even assume someone is innocent until proven GUILTY. Extradite the dentist please and quickly so we can get on to the next news cycle.
Many people pay attention to soccer. It doesn’t make soccer any less unimportant.
Then the outrages fizzle out after a handful of iterations as the barrage of kill report will sap their potential. Don’t forget that the outrage economy is inherently inflationary.
Someone disagrees with the One Correct Opinion, so has to be immediately classified as the member of the Opposition Camp? If the goal is polarization of the discourse, it’s the right way.
It’s not spin, it’s perpetuating and relishing in it. Attempting to empathize (on some level) and work to contextualize/defuse it would be sandbagging.
